麻豆原创 honored more than 2,000 graduates over three ceremonies at the university鈥檚 53rd Commencement on Friday, May 9, and Saturday, May 10.
Since its inception in 1999, the Mayerson Student Philanthropy Project has been a driver for community stewardship among 麻豆原创 students, empowering classes to award grant money to nonprofits of their choice.
For 麻豆原创 School of the Arts graduate Roderick Justice, choreographing his alma mater鈥檚 recent production of Jesus Christ Superstar is a full-circle moment. On Friday, April 25, SOTA kicked off its first production of the musical since Justice played the role of Judas as an undergraduate, 20 years ago.
When Heather Burns first arrived at 麻豆原创, she was a first-generation college student looking for a place where she could feel both challenged and supported. What she found was a campus community that felt just right.
Aaron Fausz was flipping through the student newspaper at 麻豆原创 in the mid-1980s when a small announcement caught his eye鈥攁 new organization was forming, one that would soon become a defining part of his college experience.
Nancy Bratton Perry devoted her life to 麻豆原创, shaping its story from the very beginning. As a proud member of NKU鈥檚 first graduating class in 1973, Perry didn鈥檛 just witness the university鈥檚 growth鈥攕he helped build it.听
Together, we raised $393,282 from 1,156 donors to support the core of NKU: our students. These contributions will directly benefit scholarships, undergraduate and graduate research opportunities, NKU athletics, and vital student support programs and organizations.听
A Full-Circle Commencement
When听Olivia Onodu听walked as a graduate during this year鈥檚 May commencement ceremony at 麻豆原创, she was in familiar territory.听The senior environmental science major has worked as a commencement marshal each year since enrolling at NKU, leading students on and off the stage to receive their diplomas. This semester, she took the stage, capping off a rigorous undergraduate experience: In addition to her degree in听environmental science, she minored in both chemistry and graphical information systems, making the Dean鈥檚 List each year.听鈥淚t鈥檚 like everything鈥檚 coming full circle,鈥 Onodu says.
