    Effigy Jar
This is a hooded, red and black human on a buff
painted effigy jar with checkerboard on the cheeks, and painted black
features. There are patterned indentations along the middle and top of
the effigy jar separated by a band of red and black geometric designs.
The geometric designs include alternating black and red triangles above
and below an interlocking square scroll pattern with lines extending
toward this scroll pattern in some areas on the jar. The base of the jar
is rounded. This jar is from Chihuahua, Mexico and is a modern
interpretation of the Casas Grandes style of pottery.
